Kaylee Reisenbichler, cosmetologist at Trendsetter’s Salon in Jackson is a 2012 Jackson High School graduate. A native of the area, Reisenbichler grew up in Millersville and moved to Jackson about six years ago.
Formerly a cosmetologist at Belladona in Cape Girardeau for five and a half years, Reisenbichler has been at Trendsetters in Jackson for a month and a half. “I love Jackson, and that I finally get to work where I live,” she said. “I feel like I get to contribute to the community.”
Her home is just a few minutes away from her job and in the evenings she and her husband, Trey, enjoy sitting outside. “We’re like 100 years old. We like to watch the birds and our field is full of them,” she said.
“I especially love the sense of community in Jackson. Not that there wasn’t one in Millersville, but everyone there was my family,” she said. “I especially love the kindness aspect …you know, like people opening doors for you and stuff. I know it may sound phony, but that’s really how I feel.”
Life has changed a lot since she moved to Trendsetter’s. With her weekends more flexible, she has the opportunity to enjoy more community events.
Volunteering might be a possibility, but mainly she said she would like to be more involved in Jackson.
Among all the Jackson activities, Oktoberfest is her very favorite.
“We go every year. It’s not hot and it’s dog friendly,” said Reisenbichler.
Known as a “Plant Momma,” Reisenbichler wonders if Oktoberfest may have to rate second among her favorite Jackson events. “I’m excited about Jackson in Bloom. I’ve never been. And I’m excited about the Farmer’s Market. You know what they have? Plants.”
