Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

This recipe is best baked in a 10” cast iron skillet served with vanilla ice cream. If you like to camp, this a great dessert cooked outdoors. (Serves 6-8)

  • 1 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • *1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. In separate bowl cream together butter and sugars, adding egg and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips and pecans.

Bake approx. 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream.
