Allen Peetz

Funeral service for Allen Lane Peetz of Jackson was held Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, 10 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Jim Matthews and the Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiated. Interment followed in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Pallbearers were Steve Maintz, Doug Overbeck, Dean Sawyer, Richie Kranawetter, Sean Gray and Jeff Lorberg.

Allen, 54, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at SoutheastHEALTH. He was born Jan. 29, 1967, in Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin “Junior” and Elsie Nitsch Peetz.

Allen was a 1985 graduate of Jackson High School. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA, with a diesel mechanic degree. He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended Cape County Cowboy Church near Oak Ridge. He loved horses, anything to do with farming, especially cowboying. He lived life to the fullest and he never met a stranger.

Loving survivors include his parents, two brothers, Lonnie (Lea Ann) Peetz of St. Joseph and Shawn (Jody) Peetz of Jackson, maternal aunts, Elda, Allen’s Godmother (the late Kenny) Siebert and Alice (Bruce) Benton of Jackson several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Linda Nitsch, his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Emilie Peetz, paternal aunts and uncles, Bernice Overbeck, Clarence Peetz, Wilbert Peetz, Ruby Sander and Helen Moll.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Cape County Cowboy Church Youth Rodeo or Emanuel United Church of Christ.
