Beverly Byrd

Beverly Lynne Byrd, 66, of Cordova, TN, passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 2, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Jacqueline Kasten Strack. She and Larry Alan Byrd were married Feb. 4, 1983, in Memphis, TN. He passed away May 27, 2015.

Beverly was known as “Aunt Bea.” She worked for over 30 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis.

Beverly and her family attended Christ the King Lutheran Church in Memphis. She had a love for animals, and in her love for animals, she cared and fostered many cats. Beverly also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Loving survivors include her son, Landon (Dylan) Strack Byrd of Memphis, TN, two sisters, Mary (Bill) Seiler and Alicia (Tony) Jaco, both of Jackson, three nieces, Amanda (Lance) Neal of Whitewater, Lynsey (Blake) Grieshaber of Columbia, and Rachel (Jarett) Seiler of Jackson, and two nephews, Tyler (Brittany) Trierweiler and Matthew Jaco, both of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, her parents, and great-grandparents.

Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, from 10 a.m. until service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service followed at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rodney Benkendorf officiating.

A family graveside service was on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, in Memorial Park in Memphis, TN.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Missouri Humane Society or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
