Danny Mayfield

Funeral service for Danny Mayfield of Jackson, will be held Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Mark Culberson will officiate. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Danny, 60, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lindell Wayne and Ruth Ann Green Mayfield. He and Teressa Sitzes were married Sept. 12, 1982.

Danny was a 1979 graduate of Woodland High School. He previously worked for Lee Rowan in Jackson and has been with Procter and Gamble for the past 25 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, and golf. Above all, Danny loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Loving survivors include his wife, Teressa of the home, a son, Jason (Jessica) Mayfield and a daughter, Shayna Purkey, all of Jackson, seven grandchildren, Kaylynn (Calen) Crites, Bayley, Jesse, and Maggie James and Michael, Ryder and Aaryian Purkey, two brothers, Kevin (Phyllis) Mayfield of Fruitland, and Gary (Christine) Mayfield of St. Petersburg, FL, father-in-law, Mac Miller, two sisters-in-laws, Lori Long of Millersville and Cheryl (Kevin) Pruitt of Jackson and a brother-in-law, Gerald Sitzes of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Sue Miller, maternal grandparents, Robert and Maggie Green and paternal grandparents, Dayton and Kate Mayfield.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Crown Hospice.
