David Reid

There will be a private family service for David Reid of Glen Allen. Arrangements were handled by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

David, 78, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 19, 1942, in St. Louis, son of Leo and Freda Johnson Reid.

David worked for Erlbacher Equipment in Cape Girardeau as a back-hole operator for many years and retired from Eastern Missouri Industry in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Sandy (William) Brinkopf of Gordonville, a son, Brent (Crystal) Reid of Jackson, four grandchildren, Amber and Autumn Reid and Tyler and Nick Brinkopf, a sister, Carol (Clinton) Detjen of Perryville and two brothers, Terry Reid of Perryville and William Reid of St. Louis and his girlfriend, Nedra Peters of Glen Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Sue, Beth and Pauline, and six brothers, Howard, Paul, J.R., Bob, Donald and Ralph.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
