Elzena ‘Sue’ Brandenburg

Funeral service for Elzena “Sue” Brandenburg of Jackson, will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m.

Sue, 90, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 11, 1931, in Jackson, the daughter of Charles and Verba Blaylock Flanagin.

Sue was a graduate of Jackson High School, Southeast Missouri State University and Washburn University in Topeka, KS.

She lived most of her life in Topeka, KS, where she owned and operated the Sue Brandenburg CPA Accounting Firm.

Loving survivors include her son, David Brandenburg of Jackson, two siblings, Paul (the late Hulda) Flanagin of Jackson, Judy (the late Gary) Nagel of Wildwood and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a young daughter, Lori Brandenburg, a sister, Mary Moyers and her parents.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
