Joe Miinch

Joe K. Miinch, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, surrounded by family.

He was born Oct. 4, 1936, in Morley to Charles Albert and Bessie Jewell Yount Miinch. He and the former Kathryn Myers were united in marriage on Feb. 21, 1959.

Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, as well as spending time at the cabin with his sons, brothers-in-law and nephews. He often shared favorite stories from his childhood and young adulthood with loved ones, eliciting laughter from both Joe and his audience.

Without a doubt, however, Joe’s greatest love was his family.

He cherished time spent with his beloved wife, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. He was a man of deep, abiding faith in the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

He retired from Procter & Gamble in 1996.

Survivors include sons Dwane (Diane) Miinch of Millersville and Larry (Julie) Miinch of Marble Hill; daughter-in-law Patti Miinch of Cape Girardeau; sisters Lamia Bangert of Patton, Dean Bess of Marquand, and Carol Davis of Marble Hill; grandchildren Kari (Tatum) Kitchen, Jenna (Chris) Burr, Steve (Taylor) Miinch II, Kami (Robby) Cheney, Jennifer (Seth) VanBooven, Mindy (Travis) Dailey, Kati (Chad) Minson, Tia (Justin) Hill and Trae Miinch; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathryn, son Steve and brothers Bill Miinch and Bob Miinch (infant).

Visitation was from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Liley Funeral Home in Patton. The funeral service at 10 a.m. was officiated by the Rev. Troy Richards. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sedgewickville.
