Joyce Seyer

Funeral mass for Joyce Marie Seyer of Jackson, was held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. Father Randy Tochtrop officiated. Burial was in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Parish prayers and the rosary were held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at 7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Chapel in Jackson.

Joyce, 71, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 19, 1950, daughter of Herman and Lena Compas Bucher. Joyce and Thomas Seyer were united in marriage on June 17, 1978.

Joyce enjoyed reading, cross stitching and was a librarian for 38 years. She loved being with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband of the home, son, Caleb (Kelly) Seyer of Kansas City, daughter, Alicia Seyer of Cape Girardeau, sister, Maryann (Joe) Garvey of Jackson, three brothers, Wilfred (Alyce) Bucher, Frank (Margie) Bucher, Denis (Sharon) Bucher, three grandchildren, Joshua Seyer, Brady Seyer and Caitlin Seyer and one sister-in-law, Pam Bucher. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Bucher and Ralph Bucher.
