Marjorie Cook

Funeral service for Marjorie Ann “Marge” Cook of Millersville, was held Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Chris Vaught officiated. Burial followed at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Mrs. Cook, 81, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at SoutheastHEALTH in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 8, 1940, in Sedgewickville, to John Bill and Nell Audrey Brotherton Roe. She and Paul Dean Cook were married Aug. 23, 1957. Four children were born to their union, Tammy, Todd, Teresa and Toby. They had been married 42 years when Dean passed away Aug. 25, 1999.

Marge was a 1958 graduate of Patton High School. She retired from Lenco after 30 years of employment.

She was a 32-year member of Connection Point Church in Jackson and a longtime member of Oak Ridge OES Chapter 310 (now in Millersville).

Marge loved spending time with friends and family, but it was the grandkids and great-grandkids that brought her true joy. She also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and riding horses, especially Big Red.

Loving survivors include her “four T’s”: Tammy (Fred) Grossner of Patton, Todd (Pam) Cook of Oak Ridge, Teresa (Mike “Sparky”) Clark and Toby (Kimberly) Cook, both of Millersville, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three brothers, John B. “Jay” (Betty) Roe of Ballwin, Bob (Daisy) Roe of Marquand and Darold (Frances) Roe of Sedgewickville. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, Verla (Roy) Stroder, Betty (Troy “Jake” Hobeck) Langston and Audrey (Leonard) Langston and a very special friend, Bud Sharrock.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Cancer Center or Connection Point Church.
