Peggy Lynn Moore, 72, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Peggy was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Chaffee to Raymond Harold and Zella Mae Foster Moore.
Peggy worked several years at Thorngate, operated an in-home daycare, worked at Heartland Care and Rehab, and worked many years in housekeeping for Drury Hotels.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Monroe, and two grandchildren, Jordan Matthew Monroe, and Seth Matthew Monroe, all of Jackson; three siblings, Robert (Dolores) Moore of Belvidere, IL, Kathleen Lee of Perryville, Marcella (the late Charlie) Westrich of Chaffee; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Todd Monroe, Jr.; her parents; and siblings: Maude (G. C.) Hilyard, Addie Mae “Betty” (Jess) Statler, Brenda Kay (Doyle) Strop, Raymond Harold (Helen) Moore, John Bert Moore, Ima June Moore, Corneila “Connie” (Gary) Warren, and Shelba JoAnn (Jack) Kean.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral is at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, IL.
