Virginia Hutson

A private family visitation for Virginia Lee Hutson of Jackson was held Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A graveside service followed at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiated.

Mrs. Hutson, 93, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at the Lutheran Home. She was born April 28, 1928, in Burfordville, daughter of Arbon and Opal Rhodes Slinkard. She and Robert Odney “Bob” Hutson were married April 27, 1949. They had been married 56 years when he passed away July 11, 2005.

Loving survivors include a son, Paul Hutson, daughter-in-law (the late David) Jackie Hutson and a grandson, Duston Hutson, all of Jackson, two sisters, Lavern Hobeck, Chester, IL, and Sylvia (David) Crites of Sedgewickville and a sister-in-law, Gladys Slinkard of Scott City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David Hutson, three brothers, Jimmy, Victor and Larry Slinkard and two sisters, Virgie Turner and Diane Slinkard.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church or donor’s charity of choice.
