After a 5-4 start to this season, the Saxony Lutheran baseball team has rattled off seven wins in a row during a span of which the Crusaders are averaging 10 runs scored per game.

Saxony (12-4) scored 13 runs on three different occasions during this winning streak, which came against Advance (7-7), Caruthersville (7-12) and Meadow Heights (8-6).

The Crusaders beat both Caruthersville and Meadow Heights by 10 runs as Saxony’s top-three batters each had multiple hits and runs batted in. Senior shortstop Jace Boland, junior left fielder Blake Gaebler and senior first baseman Aaron Eubanks all had two hits and at least two RBIs as Eubanks came up with three runs batted in against Caruthersville back on April 21.

Along with having quite the day at the plate, Eubanks pitched all six innings for Saxony and recorded five strikeouts while allowing zero earned runs.

Boland also separated himself by scoring a game-high three runs versus the Tigers, while Gaebler and junior second baseman Owen Tarry also scored multiple runs in the game with two apiece.

Against Meadow Heights on April 24, sophomore center fielder Brayden Moore had himself a day at the plate with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored through five at bats. Senior catcher Carson Birk scored a game-high five runs, while Boland paced him with two versus the Panthers.

Crusaders senior ace pitcher Drew Hahs went six innings that day, recording a game-high 11 strikeouts while allowing two earned runs against Meadow Heights.

Moore had another multiple-RBI day at the plate versus Advance on last Thursday as he produced five off two hits while scoring two runs of his own. Eubanks paced Moore with three runs scored as Birk and Boland each had two.

Eubanks received the nod at pitcher against the Hornets as he threw 3.2 innings with seven strikeouts and four earned runs. Junior David Weinhold pitched in relief and recorded four strikeouts.
