2024 All-CBJ Team: Saxony’s Camille Richey

For the first time in her already prestigious high school career, Saxony Lutheran junior Camille Richey has been selected as one of this year’s All-CBJ Team honorees.

Richey becomes only the second non-senior Crusader in history to be named All-CBJ as the other was 2020 graduate Emma Brune, which was after her junior year in 2019.

Unlike Brune, Camille is a three-sport athlete for Saxony as she helped the Crusaders volleyball team win a fourth-straight district championship and go 25-8-2 overall in the fall. She was rightfully named all-conference and all-district as the team’s libero.

Moving to the winter, Richey served as point guard for Saxony’s girls basketball team. With Camille in the starting lineup, the Crusaders won their first district title since 2020, going 19-9.

Lastly this spring, Richey led Saxony’s girls soccer team to the state final four for the second year in a row and finish 14-7 overall. She also earned all-state honors for the third time.

For advice to younger athletes, Richey had this to say: “Don’t be afraid to push yourself because you never truly know what you can do without trying.”
