After each team had different results on the road earlier last week, the Jackson Indians and Notre Dame Bulldogs girls soccer match went into double overtime.

The Indians, who suffered a 1-0 loss to Lindbergh on April 1, prevailed over the Bulldogs, who beat out-of-state Carbondale 1-0 April 2, in a 2-1, double-overtime thriller last Wednesday.

Scoring the game-winning goal for Jackson was senior Olivia Klinkhardt as she had the ball bounce in over Notre Dame sophomore goalkeeper Aidyn O’Daniel after a long free kick.

This final goal came in the 93rd minute after O’Daniel had already recorded multiple saves throughout the match against an aggressive Indians offense.

Recording the first goal of the game for Jackson was sophomore Maddie Stelling off an assist by senior Lauren Marchi in the 34th minute of the first half.

The Indians defense shutout Notre Dame’s offense for the first 66 minutes of the match. That was until Bulldogs senior Rylee Britton found the back of the net past junior goalkeeper Camryn Alsdorf to tie the game 1-1 with 23 minutes left in the second half.
