After winning the Class 3 District 1 Championship for the fifth time in the last six years, Notre Dame’s softball team had three players garner Class 3 All-State honors.
Bulldogs senior center fielder Riley Burger was named first team all-state for the second-straight year after leading the team in runs [56], triples [five] and stolen bases [40]. She also finished with a .518 batting average, 57 hits, three home runs and 35 runs batted in.
Notre Dame’s next two all-staters are first-time recipients as freshman third baseman Ainsley Burnett and junior right fielder Halle Heuring were named to the second team.
Heuring led the Bulldogs in batting average [.551], hits [59] and runs [49], while Burnett finished first in home runs [four], RBIs [55] and doubles [16].
Heuring finished second in stolen bases behind Burger with 20 and tied for fifth in RBIs with 26. Burnett came in second in batting average [.527] and hits [58] and tied for fifth in runs [31].
