Jackson track teams compete at McCullough-Douglas Invitational

On Saturday, the Jackson boys and girls track and field teams traveled north to Festus for the McCullough-Douglas Invitational.

Both teams had several athletes place in the top eight of their respective events as the girls 4×100-meter relay team won its race, as did sophomore Barrett Reagan for the boys team.

Jackson’s girls team won the 4×100 by posting a finish of 51.43 seconds. Also on the track, the Indians finished with multiple fourth-place finishes.

Junior Victoria Dent took fourth in the 200-meter dash at 27.26 seconds, and fellow junior Annika Barks placed fourth competing in the 3200-meter run at 11 minutes, 38.36 seconds.

Lastly on the track, girls 4×400-meter relay team took fourth place at 4:31.67.

Moving to the field, Jackson freshman Adallyn Prater took third place in high jump with a leap of four feet, nine and three quarters of an inch. Sophomore Brooklyn Williams placed eighth in the same event at 4-8.

Indians sophomore Lillie Morningstar also had a third-place finish with a 10-foot heave in pole vault, while senior Megan Berger took fourth in triple jump at 33-2.

As for the boys, Barrett Reagan won the 100-meter dash with a time of 51.45, and he also took second in the 100-meter dash at 11.07. Freshman Blayne Reagan took fifth in the 100 at 11.17 and was second in long jump with a 20-3.

Junior Mason Turley placed third in pole vault at 13-0, while sophomore Brysen Wessell finished in fourth with a heave of 133-11. Senior Bryce Gentry took eighth in the 3200 (9:30.07) and the 4×400 team placed fifth (3:36.95).
