Total of 33 area volleyball players earn MHSVCA Academic All-State

Three of the four volleyball teams in The Cash-Book Journal’s coverage area — Jackson, Notre Dame and Saxony Lutheran — won district championships this past fall. These players were also successfull in the classroom as 33 of them were named Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association Academic All-State honorees.

The Indians (31-5-4), which won the Class 5 District 1 title, had the most academic all-state selections with 11, while Class 2 District 1 Champion Crusaders (26-9-3) and Oak Ridge (17-11) both had eight. Finally, six of the Class 3 District 1 Champion Bulldogs (23-8-4) were named academic all-state.

The requirements for academic all-state this year were for each player to have a 3.6 grade point average for their entire career (weighted or unweighted) and to have played in 75% of varsity matches this fall.

Jackson: junior Ella Domian, senior Madison Eller, junior Sydnie Floyd, junior Payton Gannon, junior Holland Guilliams, junior Charlee Koepp, senior Kamryn Link, junior Grace Newell, sophomore Katy St. John, junior Christa Vand-even and junior Nadia Wasilewski.

For their play on the court, Domian, Floyd, Guilliams, Link, St. John and Wasilewki were each SEMO All-Conference and Class 5 District 1 All-District selections. Ella, Holland, Kamryn and Nadia also earned academic all-state in 2021.

Notre Dame: senior Kristin Anderson, senior Anna Garner, junior Aubrey Nuemeyer, freshman Kate Rubel, senior Tori Rubel and senior Grace Young.

Along with earning academic all-state, Anderson, Garner, Kate Rubel and Tori Rubel were named all-conference and all-district following the season. Also, Kristin, Anna and Tori were academic all-state selections last season as well.

Saxony: junior Annie Adams, sophomore Isabel Brown, junior Clara Brune, senior Emma Hinze, junior Landre Hoehne, senior Anna Mueller, junior Paige Seibel and junior Katie Swain.

Earning all-district honors for the Crusaders, who aren’t in a conference, were Brown, Brune and Mueller.

Oak Ridge: senior Zoe Berry, junior Sam Hope, sophomore Reagan Howe, senior Abby Morrison, junior Alivia Schilling, junior Katie Seabaugh, senior Allison Seabaugh and senior Erin Urhahn.

Berry, Hope, Morrison, Schilling, Katie Seabaugh, Allison Seabaugh and Urhahn received academic all-state honors last fall.
