Uptown merchants to host two-day Christmas Open House

Uptown Jackson merchants are hosting an open house Nov. 13-14  to start off the Christmas season. The two-day event, which includes eight uptown businesses, will provide special offers and giveaways to celebrate the holiday season and provide a head start on Christmas shopping.

The open house has traditionally been held on the second Saturday of November, but this year the merchants expanded the event to include Friday to alleviate crowds.

“Everything is going to be exactly the same on both days, so if you come on Friday you won’t be missing anything that will be on Saturday,” Lisa Walker, owner of High Street Station, said.

A $150 shopping spree, consisting of gift cards from each participating business, will be given away after the event. Every purchase on Friday and Saturday at these locations will grant that customer an entry into the drawing. There is no minimum purchase to be entered.

In addition to the shopping spree, each store will have its own specials, promotions and giveaways. The specials will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

High Street Station will give away free mini Consuela tote bags when customers spend $100 or visitors can receive 15 percent off storewide during the open house. The mini Consuela tote bags will be available both Friday and Saturday. In addition, a free gift ornament will be given with any purchase.

All Christmas décor and screened tees will be 10 percent off at Cobblestone Corner, and a free gift will be added with a $30 purchase. The store will also give away a Cobblestone Gift Crate valued at $100. During the open house, adults will be able to try Cobblestone’s Christmas spiced wassail.

Vitality Market will have a 20 percent off one item promotions (excluding Young Living) during the open house, as well as daily drawings for a $25 gift certificate with any purchase. Vitality Market’s What’s Hot Wednesday food will also be offered on Friday, with menu options posted on Facebook. The store will also receive special deliveries from Sweets Unsweetened for both Friday and Saturday.

Summers Lane Boutique will give away free gifts to the first 10 people who spend $50 each day. The store will be full of new arrivals and a hot chocolate bar will be set up on Saturday.

Customers at Stitched and Stamped will be able to design their own Christmas t-shirt that will be made on the spot. Visitors will also be able to register to win a monogrammed backpack and wristlet gift set valued at $100.

The Teal Coyote will have select gently used clothing items for $1 and select items half off. The store will also put out new Christmas tees for the open house.

Mo Mo’s Treats will have a giveaway for a gift card and a free pie. In addition, anyone that checks in on Facebook will get five percent off. Other deals offered during the event are “buy five cookies, get one free” and “buy two gift packages, get $1 off.”

Additional promotions and giveaways will also be held at Fringe Boutique, which is participating in the Christmas Open House for this first time this year. The boutique opened uptown in February.
