Funeral mass for Edward “Ed” Zeno Beussink of Jackson, was held Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Father Randolph Tochtrop officiated. Burial followed at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. A Knights of Columbus rosary was held at 11:15 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Ed, 84, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at his home. He was born Easter Saturday, March 27, 1937, in Glennon, to Henry and Mary (Vander-Mierden) Beussink. He married Rose Mary Wubker on Oct. 18, 1958, in Leopold.
Ed and Rose Mary lived in Jackson and raised their three children there. Ed worked 36 years at Lenco, retiring in 2002, as the foundry foreman.
Ed was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion in the church, in nursing homes, and to the homebound, from the 1970s until 2018. He participated in the Cursillo movement and embodied its principles of living a Christ-like life every day.
He was also a 4th Degree Knight of the Bishop-Timon K.C. Council #6405 in Jackson. He received many K.C. awards and was responsible for the Tootsie Roll Fundraising Campaign for many years.
Ed liked to visit with his buddies at Hardees in Jackson, and he and Rose Mary especially enjoyed the community dances at the American Legion Hall in Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Mary Beussink of Jackson, three children, Larry (Patti) Beussink and Gary (Cindy) Beussink, both of Jackson, and Michelle Clark of Arnold, eight grandchildren, Jeremy Beussink, Whitney (Joe) Rowley, Tanner (Katelyn “KK”) Beus-sink, Caleb (Hannah) Beussink, Tyler Beussink, Madison Beussink (fiancee, Seth Sievers), Camryn Clark and Colton Clark; four great-grandchildren, Finn Rowley, Laurel Rowley, Tag Rowley, and Eleanor Beussink; four siblings, Eugene (Loretta) Beussink of Cape Girardeau, Henry (Lorena) Beussink of New Hamburg, Norma (Raymond) McAfee of McClure, IL, Rosemary (Bernard) DeBrock of Oran, a sister-in-law, Nadean (the late Stanley) Beussink of Marble Hill and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Ernest (Irene) Beussink, Paul (Judy) Beussink and Stanley Beussink.
