To keep its undefeated season alive, the Class 6 No. 1 ranked Jackson football team (8-0) picked up a 49-21 win over Class 4 unranked Hannibal (3-5) last Friday night on the road.

Coming up big on both sides of the ball for the Indians was senior Blayne Reagan, who scored twice and also came up with a turnover.

Offensively, Reagan came up with two lengthy touchdown catches for a total of 123 yards for his only two receptions of the game. Blayne also had Jackson’s only interception on top of his seven tackles.

As for first-year starting quarterback junior Tyler Fischer, he ended up throwing his first interception of the season in the contest.

However, Fischer finished the outing with 313 yards and four touchdowns through the air while completing 65% of his throws.

Outside of Reagan, Fischer also hooked up with wide receivers senior Jory Thoma and sophomore Dantwan Johnson for scores.

Thoma finished with 73 receiving yards while fellow senior receiver Evan Turley had 87 of his own.

As for Jackson’s run game, senior running back Jaylon Hampton scored two touchdowns and finished with 96 rushing yards on 16 attempts.

Looking at Jackson’s defense outside of Reagan’s pick, the Indians sacked Hannibal’s quarterback a total of five times.
